Rip's B.A.D. Ride Featuring Larry Hagman

As promised, here's the famous dude I said I would post earlier. I've been a fan since I Dream of Jeannie and later Dallas, so to learn first hand the ailments Mr. Hagman has suffered and the charities he's sponsored, it was a great honor to stand by his side. Read more about our B.A.D. ride to Long Beach here (B.A.D. = Bikers Against Diabetes), a fundraiser featuring Larry Hagman. {Additionally/ironically, my mom's b-day is today ; she too has Diabetes and recently lost most of her eyesight. Prayers to you, mama and happy birthday.} More pics from the ride to follow ~ Stay tuned. *smackies* (p.s. My NBFF, P, is also pictured here *winky winky*)

Happy Father's Day All You Dads

Happy Father's Day, M&M. Since 1981, you've been my special friend. Now, you're a loving dad and everything I never thought I'd be blessed to have. You're my world; you're my life, and though you're struggling with your kids and have dealt with so much pain, on this day, you truly deserve the best. I love you.

_________
I'm so sorry your son has broken your heart and this poem elicited no response from your baby girl. Hang in there and know I'm always by your side.

Today I sit and look back
At the world as it has passed me by.
My heart has broken in many places
I hope it will not die.

My daughter is afraid of me
I really do not know why.
I never stopped loving her
She has not heard my cry.

My arms long to hold her
And my eyes yearn to see her smile.
Doesn’t she know I am here
And for her I would walk a mile.

There is much she does not know
The past has scarred her view.
I never wanted to miss her grow
This is so very very true.

Everyday I pray for her love
In a moment it can be restored.
Oh where oh where is that dove
That can tell her that she is adored.

Yesterday would not be soon enough
For her and I to embrace.
For it is only God that can bring her back
Through His mercy and His grace.

Dad, Daddy, Pops, Papa and Father
They are only names.
However without a daughter
There is only a man that still remains.

This man that writes these words
Cried throughout his hearts expressions.
He wiped his eyes and blew his nose
Then wondered if she will ask any questions.

I love you my girl!

Dad!

Anni-blogo-versary Giveaway. Yay.

Hiya. Chuck here. I'm back. Sorry I didn't get this posted earlier this morning (*ahem* Mary and Emily). I'm a bit lot beat, as we returned home late last eve. from a very long motorcycle ride for charity (see here). What fun and oh so exhilarating. I'll write more about it this week as well as post a pic of me and a famous dude that attended.

However, I'm not done. As promised, in honor of my one-year blogo and six-year anni versaries, I want to give some more. What can I say. I rock.

Find out what the gifts are...

For Laughter (Jeff Dunham's Spark of Insanity DVD):

For Love (Like Family, Growing up in other people's Houses, a memoir by Paula McLain):

Now, let's play - if you want to. If you don't, just give me a hug or something. Moving on.

Rules are simple. (I wanted to be more creative. But I guess I just couldn't dig deep enough.)

1) Post a comment telling me why you should have one or the other. Be as creative or as basic as you like. The funniest will get the DVD; the most moving will get the book.

2) Yes, Eastcoastlife, *winky winky* anybody can play - no matter what part of the world you're in. The more the merrier, I always say.

3) Last day to submit your thoughts will be July 1. I'll post the winner on July 5.

Ez pz.

Thanks for joining in my give fest. You know I love ya. *sloppy wet ones ~n lots o' big bear huggies* ...Oh, and a special shout-out to Peppermint Patty for helping me out on Saturday ~more bigger lovies com'n your way~

The BlogBlast For Peace Meme ~ Join The Revolution

The BlogBlast For Peace Meme ~ Join The Revolution

Mimi, the QUEEN of meme's, the creator of The Peace Globes, the author of BlogBlast for Peace has come up with another brilliant idea. She is treating her Peace Globes as a meme to spread this wonderful event. I've been away, so I'm a bit tardy, however, here I be. Finally. Everybody, please join in. This is for a very good cause.

Here's what Mimi says:

Peace Globes did not begin as a meme. But it began to behave like a meme. Blog to blog to blog. Like a fog. We didn't use the word "tag" ....but that's what we did when we invited others in our blogrolls to participate. The fact that you did so without the obligatory tag is proof that the concept is powerful. It's a fact that the fastest and most effective way to spiral an idea out of control in the blogosphere is via a meme. I should know! The 700+ bloggers who participated in past launches (and that truly is the tip of The-Iceberg-I-Never-Found) knows what it means to them. It's about unity. We have that in spades. It's about activism, awareness, crossing political lines, making a statement and sharing ideas. We've done that. We have the vision as a core group of bloggers for peace; but we do not - yet - have the power in numbers behind the message.

**start copy**

BlogBlast For Peace Meme ~ Join The RevolutionHere are the rules and the story. Copy this into a post, ADD YOUR NAME to the bottom of the tag list and tag as many people as you'd like.

The Peace Globe project began in the fall of 2006 with a simple post from one blog, Mimi Writes. The post ignited a flame in the blogosphere. The flame became a passion. The passion became a movement. It amazingly traveled from blog to blog to blog across the globe. Bloggers wrote passionate articles on what peace means to them, along with the promise of three Latin words scribbled on a globe - Dona Nobis Pacem (Grant Us Peace) - branded with the integrity of their names or blog names. It was positively inspiring to watch. And it began to happen all over the world - from Singapore to China to Afghanistan to Brooklyn.

It was simple.
And powerful.
In just one day, bloggers from all across the globe will blog for peace.
We will speak with one voice. One subject. One day.
Won't you join us?

How To Get Your Peace Globe In 4 easy steps!

2) Sign the globe using Paint, Photoshop or a similar graphics tool. Decorate the globe anyway you wish. You can even include the name of your blog. Click here for hundreds of inspiring examples from previous BlogBlasts.

3) Return the peace globe to me via email ~ mimiwrites2005 at yahoo.com - Let me know your blog's name and url by leaving a comment here and signing the Mr. Linky. Your submission will be numbered and dated in the official gallery . Your globe and post will be listed on the Official BlogBlast For Peace website and The Peace Globe Posts page.

4) Here's the most important part -- On June 4, 2008 DISPLAY YOUR GLOBE IN A POST. Title your post "Dona Nobis Pacem". This is important. The goal is for all blog post titles to say the same thing on the same day. Write about peace that day or simply fly your globe.

Sharing The Love Award

Memoirs of a Mommy has given a little piece of herself to me and a few other honorees. This is probably one of the nicest awards I've gotten in the entire year I've been in the sphere. What a nice thing to say, Crystal and a nice award to come home to. Your heart is humungo. *big smackies~kissies~huggies* {click here to learn more about her story --> a must read.}

Here's what she says about the award along with a list of the other happy bloggy recipients:

I'm sharing my love blogging award with my favorite blogs. You can read all about it here. But the blogs I've listed below are some of the blogs I have on my reader that I can't go a day without checking.

I've become attached to these people. Some probably don't know I read their blogs, (why? Because I read them on my phone which is really hard to comment so I end up being a naughty lurker, bad blog etiquette I know. I'm sorry.) Others are not just my friends in blogging but in my daily life and I could NOT live without them!!

So I am sharing my love with them all because they share their love with me by posting the joy, the sadness, the randomness that is their life and because they share their lives with me by being my friend through the happy and the sad times through my good days and my bad days. And for putting up with me when my neurons misfire and I even annoy myself. I love you all!!
