Thursday Thirteen Post #6

Thirteen Things That Are Different About Men and Women That Really Irk Me

1. The first (and most obvious to me) is that time of the month. It's just wrong on so many painful, cramping, frustrating, irritating levels.

2. Makeup. Need I say more? What gives? Albeit some men do wear it, not many, so they don't count.

3. Menopause. I have to say I know many who go thru manopause, but we all know it's not the same. Moodiness may occur on a bad day and maybe a bit of sensitivity, but what about hot flashes and night sweats? I don't think so!

4. Heals. You ladies know of a man who has ever had to endure heals? No. Absolutely not...unless he was dressing up for Halloween. And on that very day, he might have had some small inkling of what aching, swollen, in-grown toe nails and bad backs are all about.

5. Panty hose. Why? Who invented these? I think I'll look into that.

6. Curling irons and/or any other form of hair-fixers. You got a man who uses one of these, let me know.

7. PMS. This is a stand-alone, which is why I didn't couple it with menopause (or even pre-menopause or being a teenager...you get the idea). It doesn't need a mate. It is lethal all by itself.

8. Bloat. As I type, I'm looking down at my belly, and I can feel my thighs rubbing together. I'm angry. All women who possess this uncontrollable disease should be.

9. Giving birth. (You can tell I'm not a mother, 'cause this is so far down on my list!) Going thru labor in itself is all I have to say. You know that women have a pain threshold 9 times higher than men, don't you?

10. Hormones. I understand men have these too, but if their testosterone is high, they get a high five. If our testosterone, estrogen or progesterone levels are high, we are called a bitch (there goes my rating again).

11. Manicure & pedicures. How much money and effort do you think we spend on polish and/or the services of a good nail person? *scratching my head* If you know this fact, here's the place to plunk it down.

12. Emotions. Do men, at large, really possess any of these? I know my man does, but he's an odd duck from most angles. I'm luckier than most.

13. Purses. This is two-fold because I'm already at 13. They don't have to carry them and yet theirs would be bigger if they, in fact, did own them. (I think you know what I mean when I say bigger...more money -- Get the joke?)

(Yes, there are more. Why not give me whatcha got. And, if you're a man, you're not allowed to disagree 'cause one of us will slam-dunk your silly, confused butt.)

You totally nailed this list Rhonda. Although some men may take you up against the purse if they have a man-purse. :)

I love that you spelled "heels" - "heals" because really isn't that what it's all about?? ;) This is a great list!

Happy TT!

Thank God I am man! Although sometimes I wish I was a woman - ya know because all men are really lesbians ha! Hope I dont offend anyone by that conotation! I got to admit women take care of themselves a lot better then men. Women wash there face and put the right stuff on to look younger and have clearer complexion but men just well - they don't seem to care for the most part. A bad hair day just really doesn't exist in a mans mentality. There is a lot going on in a womens mind regarding the way they look, dress, smell, etc and most men just - well again don't care about this about themself (they do care what there lady looks like though aint that hilarious).

This was a pretty funny list. Now the biological ones (menopause, PMS, etc.) I'll give you. But for any woman who complains about wearing heels, the number of purses they have, etc. will get zero sympathy from me. I see women walking around with these so called "cute" shoes with the pointy toes and I'm wondering to myself, "Why?"

I'm ready for any females who read my comments to try and slam dunk me... bring it on! :-)

You make me glad to be male! Three pairs of shoes is enough and I don't care if my friends notice my new haircut or not!

But I still want to come back in my next life as a woman so I can live longer.

Great list.
We do carry purses during the week, we just call the briefcases.
And yes, they are bigger and heavier than the female of the species.

Amen! My husband never could've endured the unmedicated birth of our 9 lb daughter...I barely did. And don't get me started on the rest...but at the same time I wouldn't want to be a guy...not even for a minute.

Men operate alternatives to purses on two levels - as many pockets as we can have squeezed into our clothes or a bag large enough no one will mistake it for a handbag and if we can get away with it both :-)

Husband slept the whole time I was in labor...I think that says it all;)

You know, I met a guy once who went in for pedicures and manicures. Wild. Turns out he was a clergyman. Also wild.

This a fun list, and the feeling of being irked is shared!

Menopause - or as my best friend put it, you can stretch out being a total bitch for a least 15 years. She has made a career out of menopause!

Happy belated TT and thank you so much for stopping by! For me I am happy to be a woman even with annoying things like pantyhose! :)

I'm late stopping by - still trying to get as many TT-13'ers as I can!

Great list - thanks!

I am a woman but I don't do heels, panty hose, or purses...

LOL. Gee, I can't find one thing on your list that I can't identify with.

Except maybe #9...I don't need to explain what cutting the belly open to get the baby out, feels like, do I?

I'm glad I'm past all that now. Whew, I thought I'd never make it, but then, oh yeah, there's post chemo therapy and post masectomies. Night sweats aren't a problem anymore...they're called all day long sweats, now.
