Approaching 40; 40; 40 and above - & Fit-abulous!

I'd like to play a ~~meme~~ game. On Saturday. (See, I stumbled across a an "Over 50" blogroll at Sandee's place and decided it was time to get go'n on the prior decade.)

Players: Those rapidly approaching 40, already landed smack-dab on 40, or who have long-since embraced 40 (and see the less-wise folk eating sassy-dust in their rear-view mirrors -- in other words, you're 50 or 60, etc.)...Anybody else who believes they could gain from playing in the sandbox, should.

Behind the Tattoo: Right around my 40th, the puzzle pieces fit. The big picture landed in front of my eyeballs --> I have a never-ending need to find peace and balance in my life by staying FIT spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. Now that I'm ~~way smarter, wiser, funnier, and better looking~~ figuring it out *giggling*, I'd love to hear about your experiences/knowledge too. Let's perform brain-cell stimulation *yippee* and help each other thru life.

1) Share a brief statement or two on how your yang (positive) has overcome your yin (negative) in the past week -- How have you become FIT on many levels of your life? How did you step on butthead, adversity? {Although the symbol's shape indicates continual movement of the 2 energies, I believe the balance comes from our behavior allowing the positive to outweigh the negative}; and,

Thursday Thirteen #14 (scroll down for WW)

Thirteen Items I Purchased For Upcoming Costume Party(Can you guess what I'm going as?)
1. Pink wig
2. Matching pink, leopard eye lashes
3. Rhinestone and black eye-lid jewelry
4. Large, hoop, rhinestone ear rings
5. Large, gaudy, faux diamond rings (both clear and pink)
6. Several bracelets - silver, rhinestones, couple pink
7. Rhinestone and silver necklace shaped like a neck tie
8. Black and white, chunky, stiletto heals
9. Large, wide belt to go with black and white spandex dress
10. Fake tattoos (one for around my arm and the other in chest area)
11. Long nails
12. Nail decoration - flowers and rhinestones
13. Fishnet stockings (actually own these already (don't ask), but I didn't buy anything else.

C'mon now - tell me what I am (and don't use it against me). Note: keep in mind this is a rated G site *wink*

Spreading Lovies

I've been lucky enough to get bunches of awards, and for this I am grateful and well, kinda humbled *blushing*

Something really special happened to me recently, though, that made receiving some of these bloggy gifts top-notch...they were specifically made with me (and a few other bloggy buddies) in mind. I was downright, flat-out floored. This one was awarded to me by Mary of Work of the Poet. Here are her sweet words:

Chuck of Foster Me Up made a comment today that we need some new awards. That prompted me to come up with this award which I mean to give to a number of wonderful bloggers who indeed "light up my life."

Now I will NOT subject you to the song by Debbie Boone that she sang in 1978. But I will quote from Rabbi Michael Strassfeld in order to describe the people I think deserve this award:

Had lots o' fun at the Renaissance Festival today with our friends. There was lots of sun, elephant riding [mammal event only pic - still in friend's camera; hence, necessitation of this act of cheating -- posting this work of art (caricature of me and M&M) instead of photograph], refreshing, malty beverages, turkey legs, soup bowls, dark chocolate-fudge cake and cinnamon rolls. *Yummo*

I have no shame. Though I am a serious talent and should be in Hollywood *giggling with intermittent snorts*, I had to put on my begging shoes to start up a new band. My hard work paid off though, because I'm in. They like me! They really like me! I'm the tall one over there on the left...Note to self: I shall never forget about the little people.
