Approaching 40; 40; 40 and above - & Fit-abulous!
Players: Those rapidly approaching 40, already landed smack-dab on 40, or who have long-since embraced 40 (and see the less-wise folk eating sassy-dust in their rear-view mirrors -- in other words, you're 50 or 60, etc.)...Anybody else who believes they could gain from playing in the sandbox, should.
Behind the Tattoo: Right around my 40th, the puzzle pieces fit. The big picture landed in front of my eyeballs --> I have a never-ending need to find peace and balance in my life by staying FIT spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. Now that I'm
Rules:
1) Share a brief statement or two on how your yang (positive) has overcome your yin (negative) in the past week -- How have you become FIT on many levels of your life? How did you step on butthead, adversity? {Although the symbol's shape indicates continual movement of the 2 energies, I believe the balance comes from our behavior allowing the positive to outweigh the negative}; and,
2) Leave your link here at the Chuck hub so all participants know you've spewed. Meet and greet. We make linky-love (tip: use Mr. Linky).
Extras: I'll display a code to make it easier to steal the 40 and Fit-abulous button (which may change - knowing me) and start a blogroll too. I'll have games and awards down the road too. If you're in, come play - "Contact Me" button is sitting on top my bald head.
Rock~n~roll. Party on. Peace out. *smackers*

Spreading Lovies
I've been lucky enough to get bunches of awards, and for this I am grateful and well, kinda humbled *blushing*
Something really special happened to me recently, though, that made receiving some of these bloggy gifts top-notch...they were specifically made with me (and a few other bloggy buddies) in mind. I was downright, flat-out floored. This one was awarded to me by Mary of Work of the Poet. Here are her sweet words:
Now I will NOT subject you to the song by Debbie Boone that she sang in 1978. But I will quote from Rabbi Michael Strassfeld in order to describe the people I think deserve this award:
"Light gives of itself freely, filling all available space. It does not seek anything in return; it asks not whether you are friend or foe. It gives of itself and is not thereby diminished."

This is so thoughtful, Jenn. Thanks so much for thinking of me.
Bluedreamer said my blog is interesting. Well, that's a first *wink* and I so appreciate you thinking of me, Blue *huge hug*
The Vasquez3 says that she totally hearts my blog. Ahhhh. How killer kute is that? Thank you my new sweet, hilarious bloggy buddy. I love you much too *wink*
The Vasquez3 also gave me this one. She said, "This one goes to EVERYONE on my blogroll...yes really, cuz y'all are my daily dose of bloggy goodness...yes, i really read ya everyday my google reader tells me you posted!" hehehe...I'm on her blogroll *jumping up and down and clapping like an idiot* (You're one of my daily doses too, miss thing.)
I got this one from Storyteller who said, "I'd like to pass it along to the following bloggers who do nice things everywhere they go!" The awardees are:
Thank you, Storyteller. You are a treasure.

In honor of Mary who graciously created a button, here's my feeble attempt at doing the same. Stop laughing. It's not that bad. This goes to my visitors of yesterday, today and everybody who gave me an award above:
*dancing around the room like a freak* That. Was. A. Load. This post is getting too long. Stay tuned to see who my other recipients are *curtsey* and thank you for stopping by. Beverages and snackies are now being served on the terrace.

Meme Monday #6
Melanie started this Meme Monday as a way to get some linky love and spend one day getting caught up on all tags. Rock and roll, sweet Melanie. Let's have some fun *yippee*
Bringing this post back by popular demand. Mel, of Attitude, The Ultimate Power requested a couple weeks ago we bring it back to life so as to reach 1000. I know. I'm slow. If you haven't participated and you want your Technorati authority to jump forward by leaps and bounds, then follow the instructions and play along. If you click on Mel's link above, he too gives full instructions. If you have questions, please ask, and I will help you any way I can. I'm nice like that. This is really easy, mind you, and anybody can play. You don't have to be tagged. *smackies*
*Start Copy Here*
You do not have to be tagged to play along. This game is simple and so are the rules.
1) Copy from *Start Copy Here* through *End Copy Here*
2) Add your site(s) to the list. Just be sure to post at each site you add.
3) Tag or don’t tag, your choice, however, the more tags you create the bigger the list will grow.
4) Let me know your blog’s name and url by leaving me a comment HERE. I will add you to the master list. (If you would like the scroll box code, leave me your email address and I will email it to you.)
5) Come back and copy the master list back to your site, often. This process will allow late-comers to get as much link benefit as the first ones in.
*End Copy Here*
Note: In order to be included on this master list you need to first post the "Big Bang" on the site(s) that you want included. Add your site at the end of the list. Then leave Mel a comment that you have done so.
Also, I encourage everyone who is on this list to double check the link and make sure it correctly points back to your site. If there are any issues please let Mel know and he will immediately make the correction.
Hint: when you copy this list, make sure that you paste into the "Compose" mode of your post, so that you maintain all the links.
This list should grow indefinitely. I highly recommend that every participant schedules a weekly update. That way maximum linkage will be derived for every participant and this process will keep this list growing. I also recommend that you ping Technorati after each update. That will insure maximum benefit for everyone.

I'm Not 41. Really, I'm Not...See --
You Act Like You Are 29 Years Old |
You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel like an adult, and you're optimistic about life. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences. You're still figuring out your place in the world and how you want your life to shape up. The world is full of possibilities, and you can't wait to explore many of them. |

The Band Meme (You Have Got. To. Play!)
I have no shame. Though I am a serious talent and should be in Hollywood *giggling with intermittent snorts*, I had to put on my begging shoes to start up a new band. My hard work paid off though, because I'm in. They like me! They really like me! I'm the tall one over there on the left...Note to self: I shall never forget about the little people. Band memers: Bud - The Band Meme WTIT Style, Linda at Are We There Yet?, Sandee at Comedy Plus , Mimi Lenox at Mimi Writes, Bands That Rock - EDog's Everything Page Bond's Big Leather Couch , Crazy Working Mom , Coffee2Go , Hammer , Julie's Jewels and Junque , Lyn's Last Minute Life , Speedcat Hollydale Page, Knit For Joy , Gill's Jottings, Lee at Tarheel Ramblings, Jamie from Duward Discusssions, Maggie Moo Talks2U, My View Of It, Colin at Life, Work of the Poet, Mauigirl's Meanderings, Lori from Hahn At Home, The Painted Veil, Dixie's Heart and Soul, Anndi's Luggage, Monday Morning Power, Peanut, Peanut Butter Jelly2! , Asara's Mental Meanderings, Mr. Lance Solitary Views, Diary of a Heretic, Kids, Cats, & Books - Nola Dawn, Observations From the Back 40, Late Bloomer Boomer , My Dogs Keep Me Sane - Misty Dawn, Random Autumness, Foxxfyrre's Honk 'n Hollr, Screw Perfection, Olga, The Traveling Bra, Trav's Thoughts, Andrena Getting a Grip on Grace, Everything and NothingBlog-Blond, Lowdown From LoisWriter Cramps, Friday Night Fish Fry, Butchy and Snickers, Foster Me Up, Place Your Code Here Technorati Tags: Tag You’re It, Memes,
These were the turn of events: Bud Weiser of WTIT Tape Radio: The Blog started all the ruckus by stealing this meme. Great idea, I say, because when I stumbled across it at Sandee's and then later Mimi's place, I too thought of stealing it. Bottom line: I got'r done and so can you. Just follow the simple instructions. Methinks you'd be smart for getting linky love any way you can. Good times. *smackies*
Here we go. You are about to encounter sheer, blushing joy.
1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random The first article title on the page is the name of your band.
2. http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3 The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.
3. http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/ The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
4. Use your graphics program of choice to throw them together, and post the result as a comment in this post. Also, pass it along in your own journal because it’s more amusing that way.
I tag the following (with no pressure, but c'mon. this is really a load of thrills!):
...Tell Mimi you've played - she's got the master and will add you.
