Thirteen Topics in My Memoir That Cause Me To Consume Excessive Amounts of Alcohol While I Type Down My Life Story

1. Neglect
2. Incest
3. Attempted Murder
4. Rape
5. Mugging
6. Alcoholism
7. Abuse
8. Excessive Religion
9. Depression
10. Anxiety
11. Repression
12. Mental Illness
13. Abortion

I know it's Valentine's Day. I didn't mean to depress you. But, while you're here, does this lure you in? Seriously. I'm curious. OR give me a better word than depressed. Like Ooooh. Or something.

You had me when you stopped by my blog...but yeah, now I am curious.

WOW! I hear you...those topics make me want a drink too. Keep your head up!

This list definitely draws me in. Wow.

All that in your life? Wow! That is sad!

You really need to check out some of Brad Paisley's songs (haha). Thanks for stopping by my T.T.

Dreamer said...

Wow. Wow. I would drink too. ((hugs)) Sorry you had these things in your life.

I'm not depressed. However, I am intrigued. I am looking forward to the book and the potential movie. Good luck!

It takes a long time to recover. I've been through some of this, and I know.

You will eventually discover you are strong and a survivor. I turned my anger into helping people who were in my position. It helped.

Attempted murder?

Were you the murderer or the murderee? (not sure if that's a word, but I like it!)

When and where can we read this?

(((hugs))) to you, my friend!

Unknown said...

It was me, Jenn. I was the murderee. I've come back as Chuck. (f/k/a Rhonda) *wink*

I don't drink alcohol, but I can understand this list makes you drink extra... Wow..

Thanks for visiting my poem TT.

((( warm hugs ))) You are a survivor, celebrate! Happy Valentine's Day!

Sandee said...

Makes one curious I'd say. Since you are one of my regular visits I'm wondering how much of this has happened to you. Or things you saw happening to others. Or both. Write girl! Have a great TT and Valentine's Day. :)

pussreboots said...

Dubious. A list alone isn't enough to get me reading.

Happy TT.

You have me wondering (remember I'm the happy wonderer) but this list does not make me happy for sure. And if alcoholism runs in your family maybe you should eat chocolate instead. If writing helps then I'd say write. You really do have my head all messed up and I wouldn't want to say anything too trite when I'm looking at a list like this...

It certainly does lure me in, Chuck! But then I ask myself "could all this be about her life?" There's a LOT there, Chuck. Maybe it would be good to pick and choose a few to write about...

Happy TT! :)

Hey you beautiful person!! You are who you are and you deserve to enjoy life. You are stronger then you know, you are here aren't you.

Did you know I am a councelor at a battered womens shelter. I hear incredible stories all the time, incredible stories of survival. Incredible stories of people helping people. Life is a process and we learn from it. We take the good with the bad, but in the end WHO we are is all we have, and I believe you are a strong, reflective, thoughtful, lovable person. Happy Valentines Day!!!

Not that I want anyone to suffer any of the things you mentioned. But I am very much looking forward to reading your book when it's ready.

Sounds like it is going to be an intense and powerful book. If I was revisiting those memories I'd have a drink (or 2) as well

I am proud of you for posting this post at this time! Too many times we are to respond to a holiday in the expected traditions of happiness, but not everyone has had the good fortune to have lived a wonderful, carefree and happy life. I too have endured each of these, in one form or another, in my lifetime, but you know, like you I am still here to tell about it. We are survivors. Through the grace of God, we are survivors. I wish you a special Valentine's wish.

Dang girl, Will this be in just ONE book?

Try Holy Shit, that's more than any person needs to put up with.

Does it draw ME in? No, but that's because I veer away from these ugly things in life. I do the old bury my head in the sand technique and sing La La La a lot.

If I didn't, I'd be drinking right along with you.

Bethany said...

Wow, that's quite a list! It'll be an intriguing book for sure.

Bonnie said...

Totally lured me in !!! You should post more of your story ...

Em said...

Wow, I'm impressed. Like I've said before, I am VERY anxiously awaiting this book. And I can totally understand the increased consumption of alcohol. More of my life to come in my blog. Stay tuned!

Hiya Chuck.

Are you serious? Is this fictional or non-fictional? I'm totally lured and possibly concerned. :)

Melanie said...

I think all of that stuff would make anyone drink. You are certainly an overcomer!

Natalie said...

I'm intrigued and feel bad all at the same time. :(

What a list! Depression sucks. I've dealt with it for years, along with severe panic attacks. I hope it gets better. But it does lure me in!

On a lighter note, I posted 13 songs you can listen to in the post.

This is my 1st visit to your blog and I’m hoping you’ve got other topics to balance these. I assume you do since you’re live love laughing every day like it’s your last.
Hugs and blessings,

Those are some serious challenges.

Joyismygoal said...

hey Chuck-- I guess you might drink to forget-- but I hear your compassion and caring concern in your comment to others, I know it is hard to realize, but you are that compassionate person, BECAUSE of your life experiences.!! You would not want to loose that quality. I agree w/ Mary, pick one at a time to write about and then maybe weave them or maybe not, -girl you are a survivor and a great one!!!!!

Andrea said...

Okay, THAT is a lot to deal with in a lifetime. Heck, that's a lot to deal with in 100 lifetimes!!

Unknown said...

It is a heavy load, and how it plays out is what brings the reader into the story.
Do I want to read it, you bet ya!

Happy Hearts Day! :)

I guess it both lures and repels me at the same time. After all, I surfed in from nothing but you TT site post.

Texasholly said...

So sad that your story involves all of that, but can't wait to read it.

Anonymous said...

You've reminded me why I get so down when I write my memoir! I have all those thirteen and more in mine.

We should compare notes. Or maybe booze tips.

(M)ary said...

no. it doesn't lure me in...well, wait i am leaving a comment so i suppose i am lured only to the extent that i wanted to tell you that i am not lured.

Unknown said...

Hiya, Chuck. All those things are products of the fallen world in which we live. Doesn't excuse them, but maybe helps the heartache of knowing that someone like you had to experience them.

I'm looking forward to the finished product.

Well, at least one good thing about memes is that you get to know your blog friend even better :-)
